Based on the traditional croft houses of NE Scotland, each house has 2 bedrooms which can be configured either as twin beds or super king size. Each bedroom has an adjoining shower room and WC. The upstairs bedroom is on an open plan mezzanine floor which takes in the whole length of the croft house, whilst the downstairs bedroom and shower room are generously sized and easily accessible to wheelchairs or those with restricted mobility .
In addition to the underfloor heating there is a large wood burning stove in the living area with ample well seasoned logs provided for your comfort.
The open plan kitchen/dining sitting room area is open full height to the rafters and has French doors accessing a covered open deck area which makes the most of the favourable Morayshire climate. Each cottage has its own outdoor wood fired (chemical-free) hot tub in which to relax under the stars.
These croft houses are finished to a very high standard with oak and flagstone floors and high quality lighting. A digital television with free view and a DVD player is provided in the living area, along with an ipod sound dock and a small selection of books and novels which reflect the history and tales of the local area.
The crofts come fully equipped with towels, Egyptian cotton linen, Nespresso machine, and all the facilities you would expect from 5 star luxury accommodation.
This is boutique self catering at its best.
ECO CREDENTIALS
The main structure of the cottages reflects their eco credentials. Built from Durisol recycled wood blocks, each house has a mechanical heat recovery and ventilation system which renews the air in the house every half hour whilst retaining the ambient heat. Low energy lighting, a wood-fired hot tub, and eco-friendly toiletries and cleaning products also form part of our eco philosophy.
CHILDREN, FAMILIES & PETS
Equipment for babies and children including travel cot & bedding, stair gate, highchair, steam steriliser and collapsible pushchair are all available on request.
A wooden climbing and play frame is located adjacent to the cottages for our younger guests to enjoy.
One well behaved dog per cottage is welcome. Morayshire offers some of the best dog walking in the country, with beach, forest and mountain walks nearby.
